520 3 _a this study aims to determine the disaster preparedness to the community in brgy. Aplaya, Digos city. descriptive non-experimental method was used to established the relationship. descriptive statistics, t-test and one way ANOVA where the measures used in the analysis to arrived at the findings and conclusions. A set of survey questionnaires was given to the respondents composed of 10 barangay officials and 80 residents in the barangay to determine the disaster preparedness of the community of their barangay in the areas of social, economic, human, physical, and natural capitals (resources). the demographic profile of the respondents were also gathered to know the significant difference in the disaster preparedness of their community when they are grouped according to age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and type of respondent. After gathering and interpreting the data, the researchers found out that the disaster preparedness of the community in brgy. Aplaya as perceived by the residents and barangay officials is high. it was also found out that there is no significance difference in the disaster preparedness of the community in brgy. Aplaya when respondents are grouped according to age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and type of respondent. this implies that the barangay officials of brgy. Aplaya has a higher perception on the preparedness of their barangay community from disaster compared to the mere residents.
