TThe prevalence of alcoholism among barangay Tanod and its effects to their performance in crime preventing at barangay Barayong Magsaysay Davao del Sur / by Jude Anthony Bulan, Raymond Pedrano, Cristy Palermo.

This study aims to determine the prevalence of alcoholism among brgy. Tanod and its effects to their performance in Responding, Enforcing and preventing. Majority of the respondents are high school level with a frequency of 10 or 28.6, the length of service of the respondents rangiing from 6-10 year and 0-5 year woth a total percentage of 20 percent. Mostly of the respondents from 50 and above with a total percentage of 34.3, In the Level of Performance of Barangay Tanods in Crime Prevention as perceived by the Respondents in terms of responding, it has on overall median of 4.75 with a description very high, enforcing has an overall median of 4.41 which has also a description of very high and preventing with an over median of 3.57 with a description of high. The overall median of the level of performance of barangay tanod in crime preventions in terms of responding, enforcing and preventing is 4.29 which means very high. In the Level of Effects of Alcoholism of Barangay Tanods as perceived by the Respondents in terms : Alcoholism has an overall median of 1.63 with a description of low, emotional attributes has an overall median of 1.91 with a low description and physical effects with an overall median of 2.80 with a description of moderate. This only shows that the respondents are very aware of the effects of the alcoholism in their respective duty as Barangay tanods.
