Abstract: This Thesis entitled "An Assessment of the Crime Rate of Bansalan, Davao del Sur for the calendar year 2008-2010. The crime rates in Bansalan, Davao del Sur have a total of 46 crimes during calendar year 2008. Thirty (30) of them are index crimes or total of 65.3% while the non-index crime has a total 16 or 34.7 percent. Mostly of the crimes committed are thefts with a total frequency of 15 or 15.5 percent. During the year 2010, a total 23 crimes are recorded with a total of 14 or 60.8 percent are non-index crimes and 9 or 39.2 percent index crimes. Majority of the crimes committed during this year is the violation of RA 6262 and RA 7610 with a total frequency of 7 or 30.4 percent. If we look at the crimes committed from the period of 2008-2010, we can conclude that the crimes are go lower from 46 crimes during 2008, down to 27 crimes on 2009 and 23 on 2010.
