This study aimed to determine the rate of Domestic Violence with in the municipality of Bansalan Davao Del Sur in the Calendar year 2003-2004.
And also attempt to answer the following question;
a) What barangay got the highest total of recorded Domestic Violence in the Municipality of Bansalan from the year 2003-2004.
b) What the particular month got the highest total ofn Domestic Violence in the year 2003-2004.
c) Is there a significant increase or decreased of recorded domestic Violence from the year 2003-2004.
Below are the findings of the study:
1) The result revealed that the barangay with the highest rate of recorded case of domestic Violence in the calendar 2003 is Poblacion dos with 24 volume of cases recorded and in the calendar year 2004 still the Poblacion dos got the highest recorded cases of Domestic Violence with a volume of 16 cases recorded in police blotter.
2) In comparing the two particular months of two different years. The month of October rank as the highest which has the total volume of 16 cases recorded in the calendar year 2003-2004. And in the year 2004 the month of June rank no. 1 with a volume of 16 cases.
Based on the findings of this study the following conclusion are drawn:
1) That in the calendar year 2003 and 2004 Poblacion Dos remains the highest Baranggay with the recorded Domestic Violence cases.
2) That with the two period 2003-2004. The month of October rank no. 1 of recorded Domestic Violence in year 2003 and the month of June 2004.
3) That within 2003 and 2004 there is significant DECREASE recorded Domestic Violence in the said municipality.
In view of this findings, the following recommendations are given:
1) There should be seminars and symposiums to be conducted in every barangay particularly in Poblacion Dos with regards to new laws concerning womens right specifically the RA 9262 Anti-Violence Against Women and their children.
2) The implementation of the said programs should be given emphasis with in the month of June and October to lessen the occurrence of such problem.
3) The involvement of women's in the different social movements and civic groups and organization should be given great attention and support by the government itself.
4) The government should augment in providing livelihood programs particularly in urban areas to improve their source of income thus divert the circumstance of domestic violence in every family.
5) The Law Enforcement, religious sector and other government agencies particularly the DSWD should give much focus and attention to this problem.
