This research study was conducted to determine the factors that influence individual to commit carnapping and the most carnapped vehicle in Digos City for the year 2012 in terms of insurance fraud, resale and export, resale and export of vehicle parts, commuter's theft and commission of another crime. A descriptive correlation method was employed in this study. The researchers administered the questionnaire to 92 PNP personnel and 50 drivers on February 16-18, 2013. The findings of the study showed that the factors of carnapping had moderately agree result as perceived by the respondents; and the type of vehicle carnapped for the year 2012 was found out to have 93.7 % of the carnapped vehicles are motorcycle of different models. There are only 5 cases of carnapped bicycles for the past year and no car was carnapped. Based on the findings and conclusion of the study, the researchers recommended that the citizens or the public should be vigilant against the different methods of car theft and criminals employ; the cooperation between the civilians and the authorities must be strengthen for them to minimize the occurrence of a possible criminal ac in the community; The police station must implement preventive measures and services to lessen the possible crimes in the community; and the car owners as much as possible should avoid dimly lit and unfrequented ares and always be cautious in dealing with strangers, such as hitchhikers or even those who look like police officers.
